Crawfordsville IN to Indianapolis IN

3 hours 16 minutes to ride 45.4 miles!

Yes - they want to treat it like a rest day as there are several tough days coming up.

A couple of sets of railroad tracks to cross before we get out of Crawfordsville but everyone manages to do that safely. A couple of the "A" team ride with us because even they want a leisurely ride. We actually get to look around at the fields of corn, wheat, and some kind of beans. A very lazy route today trying to avoid the big city so we see lots of big houses on acerages. Everything going good until around mile 10 when Barry has a blowout on his back wheel. It sounds like a gun shot and actually blows the tire right off the rim. Rich holds the Bike while Barry changes it and we are off.

The only SAG today is at a church at at mile 23 where carol has left over pizza. Amazing what people will eat. From there we continue to wind our way in to the big city. Although there is a headwind everyone taking a turn at the front makes it seem easy. As we are getting close to the hotel we have to stop at a stop sign before we turn right over a narrow bridge. I had to yell at some riders to get them to move over for the traffic. A little later on we are on another narrow road being followed by a big garbage truck. He was very patient and waited until he could get bye.

In to the hotel at 12:30 so lots of time to relax by the pool before the daily briefing.
