6 hours 35 minutes to ride 98 miles.
Leaving the hotel today we had lots and lots of turns so that we did not get in to the busy traffic. It is again threatening to rain and will be hot and muggy all day. A couple of times we have to stop just to double check and make sure that we really are going in the right direction. We are seeing the change in scenery to more trees and valleys and some beautiful houses. At mile 25 we stop at a store to get some chocolate milk as the SAG is not until mile 35.
After we leave the SAG we were warned about rolling hills and after the second SAG we have been warned about steep climbs. This is going to be a long day. Sure enough we get in to the rolling hills but they aren't as bad as some as we can almost make it up
the other side.
At the second SAG there are wraps for us which are much appreciated as it has been a long day. Leaving the SAG we are immediately faced with an 11% climb which gets everyone's attention. Pretty soon riders are spread all over the place. 5 miles later Barry has some bike problems and has to SAG in to the hotel. I keep going the last 18 miles and 1,000' of elevation gain with the girls. When we arrive at the hotel it is 93F. We walked downtown Wooster to a bike shop and saw the Rubbermaid building as the products are made here. Also the courthouse was quite
ornate. Before we got back to the hotel the skies opened up and we got drenched.
Hopefully, it has stopped by tomorrow. It is hard to believe that we have had 38 days without getting rained on. I am touching wood!
