Liberal Kansas to Dodge City Kansas

5 hours 32 minutes to cover 83.57 miles.

Woke up to another chilly morning with black clouds in the sky which would mean rain if we were at home. Riders opted to wear jackets, arm warmers, and some had leggings. Cindy, who normally wears tank tops or light shirts had a jacket on. That scared me in to wearing a vest and arm warmers.

Barry and I were by ourselves after the four others stopped for a break at 12 miles. We did stop at Plains Kansas "home of the widest Main Street in the USA". Buying some Gatorade Barry asked the locals, that were having coffee, if it was going to rain. One older gentleman replied "we have young'uns here that have never seen rain". We felt much better with that local weather forecast.

At mile 38 we stopped at Meade Kansas for the first SAG of the day at the Dalton Gang Hideout. These were notorious train and bank robbers in the 1890's. As we were getting closer to the only turn of the day we cross in to Clark County Kansas.

At US 283N we turn to Dodge and the good news is that we have a tailwind. We have it for the last 20 miles in to Dodge City. We turn on to Wyatt Earp Blvd and go to the hotel.
